Calm and Motion by the Water
Water has an irresistible attraction. That is why I return to it time and again. In this collection, you will find my best photos of lakes and rivers, where calm and motion meet. You will see quiet mornings with mirror-like water. In contrast, there are also moments when waves and currents add extra energy to the scene. As a result, this series offers a wide variety of images that show water in all its forms. Above all , each photo tells its own story.
Oosterschelde: Nature and History
The Oosterschelde National Park is the largest nature reserve in the Netherlands. Therefore, it is a constant source of inspiration. Here, I photograph the open water as well as the small details along the coastline. For example, there are atmospheric harbours and the iconic panoramic view of the Zeeland Bridge. Together , these create endless variations that are typical of this remarkable location.
Harbours, Lakes, and Lighthouses
The lighthouse at Hellevoetsluis, located on the Haringvliet, is an essential part of this collection. Not only is it a historic landmark, but also a scene that fascinates in every kind of weather.
In addition, you will find serene views of Lake Grevelingen, where peace and space dominate. The shipwreck at Hansweert on on the Westerschelde is another highlight. Here , human history and nature meet in a surprising way.
International Waterscapes
My passion for water photography does not stop at national borders. For instance, this collection includes the winding banks of the Moselle in Germany, where steep vineyards meet flowing water in a picture-perfect scene. Moreover, I find inspiration in the mystical lakes of England’s Lake District. There , mountains and water blend in perfect harmony.
