Tholen

Welcome to my page about Tholen , an island in the Dutch province of Zeeland where water, history, and nature blend in perfect harmony.. Known for its picturesque towns, winding dikes, and open vistas, Tholen radiates peace and authenticity.

In the historic town of Tholen, you’ll find atmospheric streets, centuries-old city walls, and a quaint harbor. Surrounding villages, such as Sint-Maartensdijk and Poortvliet, each have their own character, with monumental buildings and serene churches. Along the salty shores, scenic walking and cycling paths invite visitors to explore, always with water close by.

Throughout the seasons, the island reveals different faces. In spring, fields burst into color, while autumn mists drift quietly over the water. Birdwatchers will be delighted by the many species that find refuge here.

On this page, you will find my photographs and blog posts about Tholen , offering a warm and personal view of a place where history and nature enhance each other, revealing new stories every time.
