Bruinisse

Welcome to my page about Bruinisse . This welcoming fishing village, located on the eastern side of Schouwen-Duiveland, is known as the mussel capital of the Netherlands. With its characterful harbour, fishing boats, and bustling quayside, Bruinisse surrounds you with the scent and spirit of the sea.

The quay is alive with activity as ships arrive and depart with the tides. The air carries the calls of seagulls and the gentle sound of water lapping against the hulls. In its picturesque streets, you’ll find historic buildings that reflect the village’s deep connection with fishing.

Through the seasons, Bruinisse transforms in colour and atmosphere. Summer brings bright light and lively harbour scenes, while winter offers a quieter, more reflective charm. The surrounding waters invite exploration – from sailing across the waves to capturing sunsets through the lens.

On this page, you will find my photographs and blog posts about Bruinisse, together creating a warm and authentic portrait of a village that lives with and from the sea.
