Kinderdijk
Welcome to my page about Kinderdijk. This remarkable place in in the province of South Holland is world-famous for its iconic windmills and, along with the surrounding waterways, forms a unique UNESCO World Heritage site.
Kinderdijk is much more than a picturesque backdrop. It is a living landscape where nature, history, and craftsmanship come together. For centuries, the windmills have stood as witnesses to the Dutch battle against water, telling a story of ingenuity and perseverance.
As a photographer, I am continually inspired by the ever-changing light here. Sometimes the landscape glows warmly at sunrise, while on other days it rests beneath a veil of mist. Each season brings a different perspective, from colorful fields in spring to icy winter scenes.
On this page, you will find my blogs and photographs of Kinderdijk. They reveal how this place is not only visually stunning but also a powerful symbol of the Netherlands’ rich water heritage.
